Our Values

We envision a world where every person
is treated with dignity and thrives.

Our work is deeply rooted in values of care, grace, and integrity. These values ground us and guide our decision-making. Creating a capacity-building organization begins with creating a collaborative culture and building mechanisms that reward innovative, forward-thinking and adaptive behaviors. Having grace for ourselves and others allows for greater honesty, meeting one another in our humanity and growing spaces that allow for everyone in them to be whole.

HOW EACH VALUE SHOWS UP IN OUR WORK

Care

Our culture change work is care work. Care for each other, care for Earth and all that is within it, and care for our future. Care is how we practice radical love and build community to drive change. Care is how we liberate. So, care is central to our work with organizations as we work to create institutions and systems that care for everyone.

  • COLLABORATE

    • Collaboration is a care practice that is demonstrated through active listening, curiosity, empathy, shared purpose, and co-creation.

  • TRUST

    • “Trust is the willingness to make something you care about vulnerable to someone else’s actions.” Charles Feltman Trust is a necessary care practice for our work. We build trust with clients to ensure that we each can show up vulnerably as ourselves and with our vision for the world, meeting each other with curiosity, openness and willingness to co-create just and equitable spaces.

  • COMMUNITY

    • Our change work is not transactional. Rather, it is community work. We are building a community that is driving change and creating a world where we are all safe and free. Being in community with you all is crucial to caring for each other and the future we all deserve.

Grace

Because culture change involves addressing age-old patterns that are rooted in oppressive systems, it requires that we meet each other with grace. Grace understands and acknowledges that we all are coming from different places, having had different interactions with the same oppressive systems. As a result, it invites us to seek understanding and defer judgment as part of culture change work.

  • CURIOSITY

    • Curiosity is a desire to know or learn, and it is one way in which we show up with grace. By approaching our clients and working with curiosity, we remain open to different experiences and seek to better understand and learn from them.

  • STORYTELLING

    • We recognize the importance of storytelling as a tool for restoring our humanity.. We each have a story and we have a collective story of surviving within oppressive systems. To uncover and share our stories enables us to have grace for one another. Often people are silenced and there is a power in sharing one’s story that can lead to deeper understanding and compassion.

  • SYSTEMIC FOCUS

    • We are all complicit in systems of oppression that privilege some and disenfranchise others. So, as we approach our work, we must show up with the grace to understand our collective responsibility and charge the systems at the root of injustice. By doing so, we demonstrate what grace looks like in practice as we work to break unjust systems and create new ones that affirm our humanity.

Integrity

“Integrity” derives from “integer,” which means whole or complete. For us, that wholeness is a value that we strive for every day. It is treating ourselves as whole by setting clear boundaries; it is respecting another as whole through honesty and transparency; it is being person-centered in our work so that we are always meeting the needs of those we serve as part of honoring and reinforcing their wholeness.

  • HONESTY AND TRANSPARENCY

    • We demonstrate integrity by showing up honestly and transparently in our work with clients. We share what we observe, what we experience, and what we know openly to facilitate our work together and expect the same from our clients.

  • PERSON-CENTERED

    • We believe in putting people first. We invite people to be their whole selves. We know that true transformation requires space for people to be human and not just a means to an end. Through our work, we seek to help organizational leaders to allow for not only their staff but themselves to be whole people.

  • BOUNDARIES

    • We set clear boundaries that help us to manage expectations and achieve balance that is aligned with our values. This enables us to show up as our whole selves with agency.
